On March 27, 1998, 62,046 people were in attendance at the Georgia Dome for the game between the Atlanta Hawks and the Chicago Bulls.

But tonight, that record had to give way to a new record, as it was 68,323 spectators who had made it to the Alamodome - San Antonio's former home arena where they made a temporary return visit to celebrate the club's 50th anniversary.

- It was magical.

It was cool to see them acknowledge their 50-year history and all the great moments the organization has had, the successes and championships they've won and all the greats that have played in the arena.

It was great to be a part of that, and that it only took 64,000 people for us to pull off the best away effort we've had this year,” Golden State's Stephen Curry said, according to ESPN.

144–113 for the visitors

Because it was the guests from San Francisco, the Golden State Warriors, who won the record match.

They won 144–113, despite the massive home crowd support.

- I obviously hate losing.

But considering how it was in here, how could you be mad?

The Spurs supporters did better than we could have ever imagined.

It made the night special, says San Antonio forward Keldon Johnson.
