Muscat hosts "Iron Man" next February

On February 4, the Sultanate of Oman will host in the capital, Muscat, a diverse group of triathletes representing a number of Gulf countries and the Middle East, to participate in the 2023 edition of the prestigious regional championship "Ironman 70.3 - Oman Muscat".

The door to participate in the "Ironman 70.3 Muscat" competitions will be open to all those wishing to have different levels of experience, including the elite male and female athletes in the world.

The competitions include a series of three stages, the 1.9 km (1.2 miles) swimming competition, the 90 km (56 miles) road bike race and finally the 21.1 km (13.1 miles) run.

Thus, the total distance for all competitions is 113 km, which is equivalent to 70.3 miles.

In the event of the year 2023, the track includes swimming in the wonderful waters of the Sea of ​​​​Oman, starting from the Shatti Al Qurum area, after which the cycling and running tracks begin, and the participating athletes pass through many wonderful urban areas in Muscat and the old historical district, as well as the beautiful mountains and desert terrain surrounding the capital. .

And since the starting point of the race, the transitional area and the finish line are all located in Shatti Al Qurum, the participating athletes, support staff and spectators will enjoy the fun atmosphere of the race in one location similar to the way the organization is through a “stadium”.
