Although the press conference was devoted to the European Super Cup final, which will be held tomorrow in Riyadh between Barcelona and Real Madrid, the journalists asked questions to Frenchman Karim Benzema, the "Royal" captain, far from the main topic.

The first point raised by the journalists was the reasons for his exclusion from the camp of his country before the start of the Qatar World Cup.

Despite this, the former French international, who retired last month, contented himself with saying, "The situation was complicated and has become a thing of the past."

He added, "I will not talk again about France and the World Cup. If you want to ask me about tomorrow's match, I will answer otherwise. I will not say a word."

As for the second issue, it was the absence of any picture of Benzema and the Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, who visited Real Madrid's training yesterday, Friday, at the Saudi Al-Nasr Stadium, and pictures of Ronaldo and most of the "Royal" players, except for Benzema, were published.

In response to a question asked by a journalist about the reasons for the absence of any picture of the meeting between the two stars, he replied that Ronaldo "visited the team's training, but we do not need a picture to show that we are friends, we do not want the picture to be published on social media."

He concluded, "Despite his presence, I did not have time to say hello to him, and I hope after tomorrow's final match to see him and talk to him."
