Alva Selerud was presented earlier this week as a Roma player.

The left back, who is on the national team's January tour, joined Linköping FC from IFK Norrköping already in 2017 - and just over six years later, the star is leaving the women's league and Sweden for Serie A femminile and Italy.

- These are fantastic opportunities that I am incredibly grateful for and that I will hopefully learn a lot from and develop from, she says.

It has been busy days in the new year for Selerud.

When the transfer became official, she was in Rome and right after it was off to Portugal for the national team camp.

- There was a lot of new things to take in, mainly the language.

So it's a checklist to go home and learn Italian.

But yes, it's a completely different culture so it will be a lot of fun to learn it and see and learn from the players, says Selerud.

The contract is for 2.5 years and already there are four other Swedish women in Roma – Elin Landström, Stephanie Öhrström, Emma Lind and Beata Kollmat in the club.
