The Korea Skating Instructors Federation has openly opposed the return of Viktor Ahn (Ahn Hyeon-soo), a former national short tracker who was naturalized to Russia, as a domestic leader.

The Skating Leaders Federation pointed out in a statement, "Victor Ahn and Kim Seon-tae recently applied for coaching at Seongnam City Hall," and "there are not one or two concerns."

The Federation of Skating Leaders said, "It was Kim Seon-tae who made a false report that Sim Seok-hee, who was absent due to assault damage when the president visited the training ground for encouragement at the time of the PyeongChang Winter Olympics, could not come out with a cold." He received a severe punishment of suspension of qualifications."

Regarding Viktor Ahn, he pointed out that he lied, saying, "When I gave up my Korean citizenship and became naturalized in Russia, I explained that I knew dual citizenship would be possible, but it was revealed that I received a lump sum pension right before naturalization."

The Skating Leaders Federation said, “The two chose the Chinese national team instead of self-restraint when domestic leadership activities became difficult. They spit it out and left a stain on the spirit of the Olympics.”

At the same time, he told the Seongnam City Hall, "The Korean ice rink should become a stepping stone to restore the public's trust and move forward by appointing a coach that meets the public's eye level."

Seongnam City Hall posted an announcement on the 19th of last month to select a coach for the ice team, and 7 people, including Victor Ahn and former coach Kim Seon-tae, applied.

Victor Ahn attended an interview held at Seongnam City Hall in Gyeonggi Province on the 12th, and Seongnam City plans to announce the successful candidates on the 31st.
