On January 14, two-time Olympic champion Valery Kharlamov would have turned 75 years old. Many fans consider him the best player in the history of national hockey. Thanks to a sharp mind, excellent technique and a talent for predicting the actions of opponents, the striker has always become the most visible figure on the ice. Kharlamov was called the legend No. 17 and the star of Russian hockey, he was a symbol of the victories of the CSKA club and the USSR national team in the 70s. Valery died in a car accident in the summer of 1981, a few days after he was not taken to the Canada Cup.
