Rusada has now notified Wada that even if an anti-doping rule violation occurred, Kamila Valieva was not responsible.

They have not given any further justification.

A decision that Wada does not like at all.

As recently as November, the International Anti-Doping Organization requested that the Court of Arbitration for Sport, Cas, suspend Kamila Valieva for four years because Rusada took so long to assess the case.

But now Rusada has made a decision on the matter and Wada has in turn requested to be informed of it in its entirety.

And they announce that they "will not hesitate" to appeal the judgment to Cas should it prove necessary.

Whether they get to share the full decision, however, remains to be seen.

Rusada has previously announced that the verdict will not be made public due to the fact that Kamila Valieva is a minor.

Valieva tested positive for the Russian championships in December 2021, which was not revealed until after she led the Russian team to Olympic gold in the team competition in Beijing in February.

She was suspended but after an appeal process in Cas was allowed to continue competing in the Olympics.
