Last season they played a real shocker to the SC final over seven games against Färjestad.

But after they lost, among others, Linus Omark and Pontus Andreasson during the summer, it is a completely new Luleå we got to see this season.

The tipped top team has not got the offense right at all and after a decent start to the season, they have dropped like a stone in the table during the last month.

In today's meeting against Färjestad, they looked to be heading for a long-awaited victory after losing five of their last six SHL matches.

When half the match was played, they had gone up to a seemingly safe 4-1 lead - then came the collapse.

After three Färjestad goals in the space of just under six minutes, it was tied.

- We are hugely sloppy in the defense zone where we offer a hell of a lot of goals and superiority and that doesn't hold up against Färjestad, which is a team that cuts when it is called upon, says Luleå's coach Thomas Berglund in C More.

In the third period, Luleå came out really well and created one dream situation after another, but the puck didn't want to go in and the match went to extra time.

And once there, they finally managed to score a winning goal through Brendan Shinnimin.

A long-awaited one.

- We did very well in this match and we must continue to build on that.

In our last four or five games, we have done a lot right but didn't get the results with us, so it was nice to have a victory today.

When you're in the situation we're in, we take all the success we can and try to build on it, says Shinnimin in C More.
