Qatar plans to buy Liverpool, Tottenham and Manchester United

Bloomberg announced that a Qatari fund may target the purchase of Manchester United, Liverpool or Tottenham, confirming that the head of Qatar for Sports Investments, Nasser Al-Khulaifi, recently held talks with the president of Tottenham Hotspur, Daniel Levy, regarding buying a stake in the London club.

She added that the fund is also considering investing in competitors to Tottenham, including Manchester United or Liverpool, either through full acquisition or buying stakes in them.

But it said, "A spokesman for the fund refused to comment, while a spokesman for Tottenham denied that a meeting had taken place regarding the sale of stakes in the club, and a spokesman for United declined to comment, while a spokesman for Liverpool did not respond to a request for comment."

"The fund's deliberations are still ongoing and may not result in an agreement," the source said, noting that the fund's eyes turned to investing in the English Premier League after Qatar hosted the World Cup thanks to the growth achieved by the European competition and its global importance.
