Novak Djokovic won his first title of the year on Sunday in Adelaide, Australia, beating American Sebastian Korda 6-7 (8/10), 7-6 (7/3), 6-4, and will arrive launched at the Australian Open in eight days.

Thanks to this new success, Djokovic, 35, is tied with Nadal for the number of singles titles won in the Open era for men, behind the American Jimmy Connors (109), the Swiss Roger Federer (103) and the Czech Ivan Lendl (94).

Facing Korda, who was in his fifth final (a title in Parma in 2021), the Serb saved a match point as the American, 33rd in the ATP rankings, served at 6-5, 40/30 in the second set.
