Young Felicia Frank has gained great confidence in the top team Brynäs, not least since the team's star goalkeeper Klara Peslarova suffered a cruciate ligament injury.

The 17-year-old was already selected in the JVM squad last year, but was stopped by an injury.

This year, she is given first place in the goal.

But it was not entirely obvious to Frank that he became a goalkeeper.

As recently as last year, she jumped in as an outfield player for Gävle GIK.

- I was an outfield player until last year, so I doubled both outfield player and goalkeeper.

But then I felt that goalkeeper is a bit more fun.

That little extra, being able to make the decisive save and so on, it was a bit like that that played a role in becoming a goalkeeper, says Frank.

Benefit from the dual roles

The fact that she trained as an outfield player for a long time, she believes, is of great benefit to her.

- As an outfield player, you get pretty good skiing, I took that with me into the goalkeeper game.

And as an outfield player you learn where to shoot at the goalkeepers and as a goalkeeper you learn where the outfield players shoot.

How has it been to double?

- There has been a lot of training, so it is important to take care of the body, eat and sleep properly.

But I think it has been good for me, I have still managed to take care of the amount of training.

Now that I've moved here (to Brynäs), there's been a lot of training, and then it hasn't been such a big adjustment.

"Quite stressful"

The training could be very varied during this time and Frank shifted between a powerful outfielder to a calm goalkeeper with a good understanding of the game.

- One hour you are an outfield player and then 30 minutes later you have to be a goalkeeper.

It's quite stressful in between, but if you want it, it can be done.

Today, the full focus is on the goalkeeper role and right now JVM, where she hopes to contribute to a successful championship.

- The big goal is of course to win gold and personally to take every puck and help the team.
