Cristiano Ronaldo's debut with Al Nassr was definitely not easy.

While the Portuguese still cannot be registered by the Saudi authorities because his club has reached the maximum quota of foreign players authorized in the championship (eight per club), he will also have to serve the two games of suspension imposed on him in England while playing for Manchester United.

Soon place in the workforce

The five-time winner of the Ballon d'Or was sanctioned at the end of November by the English authorities for having snatched his mobile phone from a young Everton fan during a Premier League match played last season.

The English Federation then specified that this sanction would apply regardless of the destination of Ronaldo, who had just terminated his contract with MU.

“This suspension will be applicable once he has been officially registered,” an Al Nassr club official confirmed to AFP on Friday.

According to Saudi media, Uzbek midfielder Jalaluddin Masharipov is expected to leave the club soon to make way for the 37-year-old Portuguese.

Ronaldo has committed until 2025 with the Saudi club for emoluments estimated at 200 million euros over the duration of his contract.
