Construction work began in May 2020 in Kitahiroshima City, adjacent to Sapporo City, for "Escon Field Hokkaido," which will be the home of Nippon Ham from this season, and the construction period was completed on the 4th.



A ceremony was held at the new stadium on the 5th, and about 300 people attended, including baseball team president Koji Kawamura, who also serves as president of the stadium management company, and general manager Atsunori Inaba of Nippon-Ham, as well as people involved in construction. did.



At the Shunkoshiki, an altar was set up near the home base and a Shinto ritual was held, and representatives of the attendees, including President Kawamura, offered Tamagushi.



After the ritual was over, President Kawamura said, "The best facility has been built. I want to put my soul into this place and create new entertainment. We want to create a symbol,” he said.



Nippon-Ham's new stadium has a movable roof to cope with bad weather, and the outer wall on the center side has a structure with a glass wall about 70 meters high, which is resistant to cold on the ground. Natural grass is used.



In addition, as a variety of ways to enjoy the stadium, unprecedented attempts are being made, such as a facility where you can enjoy hot springs and saunas while watching the game, and a restaurant that brews craft beer.



At Nippon Ham's new stadium, the first game will be held in the open game on March 14th, and the opening game of this season will be held on March 30th.
