Emma Raducanu had a very tough 2022. She had to cancel matches four times due to various injuries.

And 2023 couldn't start in a better way.

During a match at the WTA tournament ASB Classic in Auckland against Slovakian Viktoria Kuzmova, Raducanu injured her left foot and was eventually forced to retire from the match.

The 20-year-old took home the first set easily with 6-0, but had a much tougher time in the second set.

Raducanu received treatment during the set but eventually fell 7-5 and broke the match after that.

She then left the court in tears with just eleven days left until the Australian Open.

Raducanu got her big break when she won the US Open in 2021.
