Lisa Ingesson has had a difficult start at the Tour de Ski, also her World Cup debut.

In Tuesday's ten kilometer classic, Ingesson finished last, in 61st place.

Now the 20-year-old chooses to break the tour.

- It's not at all where she wants to be, she's better than that, that's what we feel, she's not where she should be and then it's just stupid to drag it out unnecessarily.

- It's a tough start, of course, but with such a young girl, we don't want to pressure her to ride more stages when it doesn't work.

Despite the results, what has she gained from this adventure?

- I believe very much, partly being at altitude and what it means when you get directly there, precisely this with a tour and traveling between places and recovering in between, a lot of it is an experience, says Byström.

Ingesson will go home from Oberstdorf, but not quite yet, she has an important task ahead of her.

She steps into the national team leadership who will coach the other riders during the start of the chase over 20 kilometers.

- She is standing here next to me in full gear, she will cheer on the other riders and be second today, she will scream extremely hoarse, she said.
