Sweden's slalom star Kristoffer Jakobsen started the season with a fourth place in the premiere and followed it up by coming seventh in Madonna di Campiglio.

It was therefore with hopes of a new good placement that Jakobsen set off in the difficult conditions in the Garmisch-Parternkirchen slalom.

But his starting number, twelve, was not an advantage over the first starters.

The snow became difficult to handle and the course increasingly resembled a hump course.

Expect a difficult second run

Jakobsen therefore stood for a controlled ride, but possibly too safe as time ran out.

He finished 2.52 seconds behind Henrik Kristoffersen.

Now a new big challenge awaits Jakobsen, who retires in the middle of the second race.

- It is not an easy starting position for Kristoffer before the second run.

On the one hand, he doesn't get to take part in the best ground and on the other hand, he is a long way behind, says Viaplay's expert Emil Johansson.
