Calle Halfvarsson and William Poromaa both made solid efforts in the chase start over 20 kilometers in Oberstdorf.

Poromaa climbed some in the overall through his seventh place.

However, the field was concentrated throughout the race and apart from Kläbo, there was a big sprint for the places behind.

For many, Wednesday's competition did not do much for the summary.

- It will be a bit collected so it won't be great fun for the tour, but it was good for me and I got a decent result and I'm in it again so it's just a matter of looking ahead, says Poromaa to SVT Sport.

What do these competitions really bring to the tour?

- To be honest, it's going to be a pretty useless weekend really, we're stomping on the same positions, we at the top are in the same position as we were when we came here (to Oberstdorf), says Calle Halfvarsson.

- If we had run a mass start, we might have gotten more out of yesterday, he says.
