While the funeral of 'soccer emperor' Pele, who passed away after battling cancer, began at the home stadium of Santos, Brazil, where the deceased played for 18 years, fans continue to pay tribute.

Pele's son and Santos officials place Pele's coffin in the center of the stadium while Santos' stadium, where Pele played an active role for 18 years, was filled with placards reading 'Long live the King' and uniform number 10.



The coffin decorated with bouquets was opened to the general mourners who lined up 2 to 3 km around the stadium, and fans saw off the football emperor's final path.
