Novak Djokovic is in Australia to play the ATP tournament Adelaide International 1. On Tuesday, he played his first singles match of the new year and fairly easily cleaned up 65th-ranked Frenchman Constant Lestienne 6-3, 6-2.

- For being the first match, I can't complain.

says Djokovic to ATP.

- I played very well, he says.

This was the first time the two had met. 

- He doesn't make many mistakes, he has a tricky serve that is accurate, says Djokovic about his opponent.

The match ended after a minute and a quarter.

Later in January, Djokovic will play the Australian Open in Melbourne, where he has won the most titles of all, a whopping nine.
