The municipality of Santos honored the late Brazilian soccer legend Pele, on the eve of his burial ceremony, with a distinctive gesture during the New Year's celebrations.

Pele died on Thursday, December 29, at the Albert Einstein Hospital in Sao Paulo, after suffering from colon cancer.

The municipality of Santos organized a light show, using 80 drones, on Gonzaga Beach, in which it formed a picture of the only player who won the World Cup 3 times.

The planes made a model in the form of Pele holding a cup in addition to the Santos club logo, to the shouts and applause of hundreds of people who attended the event.

And in the "Urbano Caldera" stadium of the Santos club, the ceremony began to look at Pele's body, as it was placed in a coffin, with the burial ceremony taking place at a later time with the participation of Brazilian President Lula da Silva.

Pele's body will remain in the same place for 24 hours, that is, until the morning hours of the next day, after which he will be buried in the cemetery designated for his family members.

And with the announcement of Albert Einstein Hospital, last Thursday evening, that Pele had died at the age of 82, he put the final word on the life of one of the most important stars of the round witch in the world.

The Brazilian legend topped FIFA's list of the best players of the twentieth century.

The International Olympic Committee also awarded him the title of best athlete of the last century, in addition to his solutions in the list of the American "Time" magazine for the 100 most important personalities of the last century.

Pele shared the title of Player of the Century from FIFA with the late Argentine legend Diego Maradona, as well as from the International Federation for History and Statistics thanks to his busy career, as well as entering the Guinness Book of Records after scoring 1279 goals in 1363 matches at the level of all competitions, whether with clubs or national teams.

It is worth noting that Addison Arantes Donascimento, better known as (Pele), was born on October 23, 1940, in the state of Minas Gerais, and became known in Brazil as the "King of Football" after he won the World Cup 3 times in 1958, 1962 and 1970.
