Moa Boström Müssener was 27th after the first run in the slalom competition in the World Cup on Thursday.

In the second, she put in a very fine effort as she had the second best time, moving up ten places to finish 17th, by far her best World Cup finish.

- I was very calm before the second run, it felt like you didn't have much to lose, she tells SVT Sport.

She beat established Swedish skiers Anna Swenn Larsson and Sara Hector, and not least stars like Mikaela Shiffrin, and last winter's Olympic slalom champion Petra Vlhova.

- It means a lot.

The 21-year-old has stood on the podium several times in the European Cup and won two medals at the Junior WC.

- This was more like a barrier being opened, right now I feel calmer ahead of upcoming competitions.

- This competition has its own class, she says.

"Get up there in the top fight"

Boström Müssener says that before the season she set goals, one of which was to establish herself in the World Cup.

- There are a few competitions left, but I feel I'm on the right track.

If you keep taking steps like this, where could this end this year?

- Then I hope that you get points that allow you to start better in the first run and get up there in the top fight.
