Yao Ming reveals why he chose Djordjevic【His excellent coaching resume and multicultural experience are affirmed】

Recently, in an interview with some media, Yao Ming, chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, revealed the reason why he chose the famous Serbian coach Djordjevic as the coach of the Chinese men's basketball team: excellent coaching resume and multicultural experience.

After the Chinese men's basketball team finished the last world preliminaries window, it officially announced that the Serbian coach Djordjevic will replace Du Feng as the new coach of the Chinese men's basketball team.

Why did the Chinese men's basketball team choose Djordjevic?

Yao Ming, chairman of the Chinese Basketball Association, recently gave two main reasons, "The first is his resume. Any of our teams, whether it is a club or a national team, will definitely look at his coaching resume when choosing a coach."

Djordjevic is indeed a proven and successful coach.

He is one of the most outstanding defenders in the history of Serbia and even Europe. He has played for Belgrade Partizan, Real Madrid and other European teams and briefly joined the NBA Portland Trail Blazers.

In 1992, he helped Partizan Belgrade win the Champions League.

In terms of the national team, Djordjevic served as the main force to help the team win three European championships in 1991, 1995 and 1997 (the 1995 final scored 42 points), the 1996 Olympic silver medal, and the 1998 World Championship.

In 1994 and 1995, he won the title of "Mr. Europe" twice in a row (selected by Gazzetta dello Sport).

He is also the only person who has won Olympic, World Championship and European Championship medals at the same time as a player and as a head coach.

After retiring, he has successively coached top European clubs such as Milan in Italy, Panathinaikos in Greece, Bayern Munich in Germany, and Fenerbahce in Turkey.

He also led the Serbian national team to win the runner-up in the Rio Olympics and the runner-up in the World Championships.

In 2008, he was named "Europe's Top 50 Contributors" by the UEFA Champions League.

In addition to a rich and successful resume, the Chinese men's basketball team also values Djordjevic's multicultural experience.

Yao Ming said: "He has coached in several environments and has a lot of diverse experiences. Djordjevic can think about problems from multiple angles, which will give us a lot of advantages in this regard."

According to the Beijing Youth Daily reporter, Djordjevic will return to the Zhuji competition area again after completing the relevant procedures in Beijing to continue to inspect the players.
