France and Paris SG striker Kylian Mbappé paid tribute to Brazilian football legend Pelé, who died on Thursday at the age of 82, stressing that "his legacy will never be forgotten".

"The king of football has left us, but his legacy will never be forgotten, rest in peace, King", wrote in English on Twitter Mbappé, in caption of a black and white photo showing the two players side by side.

Mbappé often compared to Pelé

Mbappé, crowned world champion in 2018 and vice-world champion 2022 after the defeat of France against Argentina (3-3 ap, 4 tab to 2), is often compared since his emergence at the highest level to the " King” by its precocity.

Like Pelé before him, Mbappé panics the counters with twelve goals in eleven World Cup matches, spread over two editions.

Pelé died at the age of 82 after battling cancer for more than a year, one of his daughters announced on Thursday.
