It was tied midway through the third period at 3-3.

- I am so damn proud of all the players.

It was a tight match and really fun to win.

I think we play a good game and deserve to win.

We were patient when it went back and forth, says the final goalscorer Karl Johansson to C More.

Remarkably, it was also Östersund who last defeated the superior series leader.

On 28 October they won 3-1 in Östersund Arena and today there was a repeat.

Rhythmic applause filled the arena during the final minute and the Jämtlands song was played.

It was a party.

- We had talked about it before that we were the ones who beat them last and we wanted to win extra hard again, says Johansson.

"We haven't spent a second on the record"

In the final minutes, Modo was looking for an equalizer when the puck went to Karl Johansson who had plenty of time to aim and found the right cross for 5-3.

At 3-3, Östersund pulled Modo apart and the puck went to Alexander Anderberg, who went straight to make it 4-3.

- Records here and there.

We haven't spent a second on it but I'm really disappointed with the loss.

We don't seem to be having a great time here.

We were easy prey and faced a hungrier team, says Modo's coach Mattias Karlin, who only wants to give a couple of players the nod.

- The others can do better.

Modo took a timeout with 2.30 left.

Modo selected goalkeeper Marcus Nygren and bet everything on a card with six outfield players.

Östersund defended well and Oliver Dackell got good help in the goal.

Modo now shares the record of 16 straight victories with Timrå.
