The president of the Saudi Al-Nasr Club, Mosli Al Muammar, denied that his club was close to contracting with Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo, stressing that most of what is reported in the media about the imminent completion of the deal is "incorrect."

Over the past few days, Ronaldo's name has been associated with Al-Nasr Club, and many press reports stated that he was very close to signing a record contract, according to which he would receive about 200 million euros per season.

In a brief statement, Al Muammar told the Saudi newspaper, Al-Riyadiah, that "nothing has happened about Cristiano Ronaldo. Most of what is written in the media is incorrect."

The president of the Saudi Al-Nasr Club did not provide further clarifications on the issue that occupied the European and Arab media, since Manchester United's termination of the "Don" contract by mutual consent on the 24th of last month.

Al-Muammar's statements cast more ambiguity about the fate of the transfer deal for the 5-time Ballon d'Or winner, in light of the assertion of many European newspapers that Al-Nasr Club decided the deal, and that some minor details remained before the agreement was announced.

And the “CBS Sports” sports platform reported on Monday - according to a source in Al-Nasr - that Ronaldo, 37, had taken an appointment for a medical examination at the Saudi club.

Ronaldo is not currently associated with any club, since he noisily left Manchester United shortly before the 2022 World Cup, which means that he can join Al-Nassr on a free transfer.

And last week, the Spanish newspaper "Marca" reported that the historic scorer of the Portuguese national team agreed with Al-Nasr to conclude a contract for 7 years, of which he spends two and a half years as a player, and then works during the remaining period as an ambassador for the tripartite file that includes Egypt, Saudi Arabia and Greece to organize the World Cup. 2030.

According to "Marca", Ronaldo's annual salary as a player will be approximately 200 million euros annually, provided that this large salary increases with his work as an ambassador for the World Cup file.

The newspaper pointed out that it is possible to formally conclude the agreement once Ronaldo goes to Riyadh to sign the contract.

Cristiano Ronaldo defended the colors of Real Madrid between 2009 and 2018, before moving to Italian Juventus, and then returning to Manchester United.
