Arbitration criticized

The refereeing of last Sunday's final by Poland's Szymon Marciniak drew criticism in France, including his decision to award a penalty for Ousmane Dembélé's foul on Angel Di Maria in the first half.

The French also regretted the lack of elegance of certain Argentinian players in the victory, in particular goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez.

Among them the president of the French Football Federation Noël Graet who wrote to his Argentinian counterpart Claudio Tapia to be moved by the "excesses" of the Albiceleste celebrations.
