Al Zarouni gives Sharjah the title of the President's Chess Cup

The Sharjah Cultural Chess Club player, Saud Al Zarouni, won the title of the President's Cup for Junior Chess.

The runner-up returned to Ittihad Kalba player Salem Al Balushi, while Fujairah Club player Muhammad Al Ali ranked third.

The closing ceremony of the tournament was held on Friday evening at the ADNOC Business Center in Abu Dhabi.

In press statements, Al Zarouni expressed his overwhelming happiness at achieving the title, and said that the tournament was strong since its inception and witnessed great competition.

For his part, the Assistant Secretary-General of the Sharjah Cultural Chess Club, Omar Noman Al Ali, confirmed that winning the cup championship is the most expensive title locally, and is one of the most prominent tournaments organized by the UAE Chess Federation, which contributes to shedding light on new talents and providing the team with stars who are able to compete globally. Pointing out that the championship this year witnessed strong competitions until its final stages, wishing Al Zarouni success in his studies and in his chess career, following up on his brilliance and achieving international achievements.
