Karlstad son Magnus Nygren left Färjestad after the 2016/2017 season and has spent the last six seasons in the Swiss Davos.

Nygren has, among other things, three WC tournaments with Tre Kronor on his track record and is a hard-shooting defender who has been the SHL's most dangerous defender twice, as well as a season in Switzerland.

He has a SM gold (2011) and a SM silver (2014) with Färjestad, as well as a WC bronze from 2014.

- I've always had the door open for Färjestad, but I've also been clear that I feel good in Davos.

I feel they have a lot of confidence in me down here and I get the opportunity to play in a good team.

But getting the opportunity to come back to my hometown and my parent club has always been in the back of my mind.

I feel that I have much more to give, and I also want to stand on that square again, says Nygren to Färjestad's website.

The club's sports director Rickard Wallin - who was team captain in FBK and won gold together with Nygren in 2011 - says:

- I think that Magnus has grown, both as a player and as a person, during his years in Davos.

That we will bring home the same cutting-edge expertise as when he left is absolutely clear, and we believe that Magnus has a lot left to give, both on the ice and as a leader in the team.
