French anger because of the mockery of Argentine Mbappe

A number of French officials showed their annoyance and anger at the ridicule of French striker Kylian Mbappe, by some Argentine fans and "tango" goalkeeper Martinez, in the midst of celebrations held in the Argentine capital, Buenos Aires, to welcome the return of the World Cup-winning team.

During the reception of Argentina, a group of fans set fire to the cover of an imitation coffin decorated with a cross and a picture of Mbappe, and Martinez grabbed a doll of a baby with Mbappe's face during a procession of the open-top bus that carried the team's players through the Argentine capital.

"What happened is inappropriate, and I do not rule out discussing the matter with my (Argentine) counterpart," French Sports Minister Emily Castera said in a press statement. She confirmed that the French Football Federation had written to Claudio Tapia, president of the Argentine Football Association, about what happened.
