It was a cracking evening as Stade Rennais had made a specialty of it.

A few hours after seeing his team explode Clermont 6-0 one evening in September 2021, a Stade Rennais supporter was the victim of violence when returning to his home in Breteil (Ille-et-Vilaine).

Several people identified as ultra supporters of PSG had waited for him in front of his parents' house.

On his arrival, the defendants had struck him several blows before forcing the trunk of his car to seize sports bags where the tarpaulin of the RCK was.

In the middle of the ultras, the theft of a tarp is considered a real affront.

This Wednesday, the criminal court sanctioned four men, accused of being the perpetrators of this theft, but the qualification of theft with violence was ruled out, in favor of the theft in a meeting.

The four men were found guilty but all escaped the prison sentence.

They are sentenced to fines of 600 euros each.

One of them sees his sentence being suspended.

Identified thanks to the demarcation of their mobile phones, the four men aged 28 to 40 are suspected of belonging to Karsud, a group of ultras renowned for its violence and which has not attended PSG matches since the 2017 season. 2018.

During the hearing, they had denied this membership and served up a completely different story to the magistrates.

According to them, it was a mysterious individual met in a bar who had given them the address of the RCK member while they were partying in Rennes.

They would then have decided to wait for their rival for several hours.

"We did that without thinking," said one of the defendants.

It started with a simple joke that went wrong and turned against us, ”defended one of the defendants during the hearing.

Stadium bans required

The public prosecutor had described these facts as "prepared" leaving the thesis of the ambush.

The magistrate had requested sentences ranging from ten months suspended prison sentence to one year in prison as well as stadium bans for three years.

The court was much more lenient.
