The champion of the UAE national team, Youssef Mirza, won the gold medal in the individual race against the clock, yesterday in Kalba, within the fifth day of the second Arab Combined Cycling Championship, with the participation of 17 countries.

So far, the UAE team leads the tournament with 19 medals.

Mirza's achievement comes despite his preoccupation with his university exam, which was yesterday, and it took place at three o'clock in the afternoon, that is, only two hours after the end of the race.

The Bahraini champion Ahmed Madan came in second place, and the Algerian player Ezzedine Laqab came third.

After Mirza's gold, the UAE's medals rose to 10 golds, 5 silvers, and 4 bronzes, as the national team outperformed Algeria, which won 12 colored medals.

Mirza is participating in the Arab Championship while he is taking his final exams in his last year at the Faculty of Law at Umm Al Quwain University, along with his teammate Ahmed Al Mansouri.
