Last season, no one could threaten Marte Olsbu Röiseland either in the overall World Cup or during the Olympics, where the Norwegian won three golds and took a bronze.

But after a summer where she suffered from shingles, autumn and winter have not been the same.

The first three World Cup weekends have gone ahead without Röiseland, who was unable to train properly.

But for the next competition she is ready after progress has been made recently.

- We are very happy to welcome Marte Olsbu Røiseland back.

She has done a phenomenal job in recent months and is finally responding to tough training, says national team manager Per Arne Botnan.

Marte Olsbu Röiseland does not seem to be heading for as successful a season as last year.

Shingles looks set to keep her out of the World Cup opener.
