[Explanation] Recently, China News Agency interviewed Yao Xubo, Secretary-General of the Qatar Overseas Chinese Association.
He told reporters that the country has developed rapidly in recent years. Taking advantage of this momentum, overseas Chinese have actively participated in the local development of Qatar, especially in the construction of World Cup venues in recent years.

As far as I know, there are dozens of companies involved in the construction of the various stadiums we see now. From general contracting, subcontracting to materials, to tools, to mechanical equipment, most of them are made in China. It should be said that Qatar's acceptance of our Chinese products is also very high.
[Explanation] The Qatar Overseas Chinese Association was established in 2021. Although it was established less than two years ago, it has played a significant role.
When preparing for the World Cup, the association was invited to coordinate and plan cultural performances in Chinese communities.
For example, during the FIFA Arab Cup, the Chinese classical umbrella dance "Blue and White Porcelain" and the solo dance "Jinghong" recommended by the Overseas Chinese Association in Qatar participated in many cultural performances outside the stadium.

The second is that our embassy has prepared a lot of anti-epidemic kits for the World Cup this time, and entrusted our Overseas Chinese Association to distribute them.
And during the World Cup, many people from our country came here, because the situation here is not well understood after all, our association is also doing our best, and we are obliged to understand the situation and provide help to those who need to know the situation.
[Explanation] According to statistics, there are nearly 3,000 overseas Chinese in Qatar, while the number of overseas Chinese in Dubai has reached 300,000.
As the secretary-general of the association, Yao Xubo said that although the association cannot be as "big and comprehensive" as the Dubai Association, it is working hard in the direction of "small and beautiful".

Yao Xubo said that China is currently Qatar's largest trading partner, and small and medium-sized business operators of overseas Chinese in Qatar are also taking advantage of the "Belt and Road" cooperation to take advantage of the momentum.
