After Senegal were knocked out by England on Sunday, Morocco were the only remaining nation in the World Cup from Africa.

And now the adventure continues for the Moroccans.

Just before the break, Portugal were shocked when Youssef En-Nesyri showed resilience and headed in 1-0.

Portugal, who again started with Cristiano Ronaldo on the bench, substituted the star player early in the second half.

But it didn't help much.

Despite a substantial game advantage, and a rib hit, Morocco and goalkeeper Yassine Bounou managed to resist.

Thus, Morocco has written history, as it became the first African country to reach the semi-finals in the context of the World Cup.

In the semi-finals either England or France await, who will meet later this evening.
