China News Agency, Beijing, December 10th. Liang Wenbo and other 6 Chinese snooker players were suspended by the World Taiwan Federation for allegedly manipulating the results of the game for the purpose of gambling.

On the 9th local time, the World Taiwan Federation issued a statement stating that Ferguson, chairman of the World Taiwan Federation, has decided to prohibit Lu Ning, Li Xing, Zhao Jianbo, Bai Langning, and Chang Bingyu from attending or participating in the World Snooker Tournament with immediate effect.

Like Liang Wenbo, who was suspended on October 27, these players are suspected of manipulating the results of the game for the purpose of gambling and are under investigation.

Previously, Liang Wenbo was suspended by the World Taiwan Federation for beating a woman in the street in the UK. He just returned from the ban in August this year.

On October 27, Liang Wenbo, who was supposed to participate in the qualifying round of the English Open, withdrew temporarily. The World Taiwan Federation explained at the time that Liang Wenbo was under investigation for alleged violations.

Among the above-mentioned 6 players, apart from the 19-year-old Zhao Jianbo who is currently an amateur player, the other 5 players are all professional snooker players.

The 35-year-old Liang Wenbo, who won the England Open in 2016, is the third Chinese player to win a ranking match after Ding Junhui and Hong Kong player Fu Jiajun.

The 28-year-old Lu Ning has the highest world ranking (No. 41) among the five players and won the runner-up in this year's Champions League (ranking edition).

The 32-year-old Li Xing is a player from Liaoning, and his latest world ranking is 62nd.

Both Bai Langning and Chang Bingyu were born in 2002, and they are rising Chinese snooker stars with great development potential.

The suspension of six players at the same time has a relatively negative impact on the development of Chinese snooker and the image and reputation of Chinese snooker in the world.

The World Taiwan Federation stated in a statement that the suspension of the above-mentioned players will continue until the conclusion of the investigation, and whether there will be follow-up punishment will also depend on the results of the investigation.

These players have the right to appeal the suspension.
