World Cup 2022: Sterling returns to England training

Raheem Sterling returned today to the England national team's training before the upcoming confrontation against France, Saturday, in the quarter-finals of the Qatar 2022 World Cup in football.

The striker missed the confrontation against Senegal (3-0) in the final price after his home in England was robbed, forcing him to return to his country.

The Chelsea winger returned Thursday to Doha, and on Friday he joined the exercises with the group at Al-Wakrah Club Stadium, where the training camp for the "Three Lions" team is.

As for Declan Rice, who has played in all four matches in Qatar so far and missed training on Wednesday due to illness, he participated in training for the second day in a row, to appear ready for the upcoming match at Al Bayt Stadium.

Despite his return to the national team, Sterling is not expected to start in coach Gareth Southgate's squad on Saturday.

Against Senegal, Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka were key on the wings, along with Harry Kane in the centre-forward position, while Marcus Rashford and Jack Grealish entered the bench.

British reports said intruders broke into Sterling's home while his family was at home on Saturday night.

But Surrey County Police later said no one was home at the time of the burglary and there were no threats.

She added that the residents of the house were on a "trip abroad" and discovered upon their return that a number of jewellery, including watches, had been stolen.
