Neymar snatched the lead goal for Brazil in the final moments of the first extra half, after a distinguished spherical exchange that broke the steadfastness of the Croatian defense.

Neymar raised his score to 77 goals with the Brazilian national team, to equal with legend Pele, Brazil's historic scorer, who kept his record for 51 years.

Pele is the only player to win the World Cup three times in 1958, 1962 and 1970, scoring 77 goals in 92 matches for Brazil.

Neymar, 30, reached the 77th goal in his 124th international match.

Bruno Petkovic equalized the match after scoring a goal for Croatia in the 117th minute.

Brazil topped its group in the first round with six points, before easily beating South Korea 4-1, while Croatia, the runner-up of the World Cup Russia 2018, finished second in its group behind Morocco.

Brazil will meet Argentina or the Netherlands for a place in the final.
