Croatia ousts Brazil and qualifies for the World Cup semi-finals

Croatia beat Brazil 4-2 on penalties to book their first place in the semi-finals of the FIFA World Cup in Qatar today.

And after a goalless draw in normal time, it seemed that Brazil was approaching the golden square when Neymar scored with a distinguished individual effort before the end of the first extra period.

But Bruno Petkovic equalized in the second extra period with a deflected shot, extending the confrontation to penalties.

Rodrigo and Marquinhos missed two kicks, while Croatia, the runner-up of the last edition, successfully executed its four kicks, to wait for a match against Argentina or the Netherlands for a place in the final match.
