Since January 2020, Jacob Bergström has belonged to Mjällby.

Large parts of the 2022 season were ruined by a concussion the 27-year-old suffered in the pre-season.

But during the autumn he was back on the field.

His contract with Mjällby expired at the end of November this year and now it is clear that his career will continue in Djurgården IF.

- This feels fantastic, an incredible opportunity to come here.

It has always been my association closest to my heart, so it is a dream come true to sign for Djurgården IF, he says himself in the club's press release, where he also confirms that he had different options, but that Dif was the obvious choice.

"Gives us a tool in the attack"

The contract is written over three seasons.

Sports manager Bosse Andersson comments on the signing as follows:

- Jacob has qualities that we will greatly benefit from in the offensive.

He is powerful, works very hard and is good in the penalty area, a real wall breaker in the attack.

It gives us a tool in the attack that we may have been missing a little bit, where we get a player who really wants to be in the box and take charge.
