The Moroccan national team qualified for the quarter-finals of the 2022 World Cup, after defeating its Spanish counterpart on penalty kicks, today, Tuesday, on the last day of the final price matches.

And at the Education City Stadium, the first half ended in a goalless draw, and the two sides did not create serious chances to score.

As usual in previous matches, Spain took possession of the ball for longer periods, while the Moroccan team settled for defense to absorb the pressure, waiting for its opportunity to launch counter-attacks.

Marco Asensio had Spain's best chance in the middle of the half, as he ran the ball to the left of the penalty area and fired into the net from the outside.

The match went into two more periods after the end of the regular time, with a goalless draw.

No team was able to take advantage of the opportunities it had during the extra two halves, so a penalty shootout was decided.

Morocco qualified to face Portugal or Switzerland, who meet later on Tuesday.
