In 2020/2021, Frida Karlsson missed the end of the Tour de Ski after injuring her back.

The 23-year-old chins a door frame, but it broke and Karlsson fell to the floor.

Last season she broke the tour after being washed up when she felled the American Jessica Diggins in the sprint in Oberstdorf.

This season she aims to complete the tour – for the first time.

- It is clear that it is an extra factor, the third time is appreciated, says Karlsson to SVT Sport.

- A lot of people say that it (the last hill up Alpe Cermis) should suit me, so I'm keen.

The plan: To compete in shape

Sprint stars Emma Ribom, Johanna Hagström and Maja Dahlqvist have said that they will not run the tour, instead training for the WC in Slovenian Planica.

Karlsson does the opposite.

- I would rather have my training block after the tour, before the WC, and am prepared to stand over competitions then instead.

- It has been my plan to compete in shape this year.

A contributing factor to Karlsson running the tour is that the competition program is not as tough as other years.

- It is clear that it is taxing.

But this year's tour is not so dangerous, it's two days of competition, rest, two days, rest and then three days, says Karlsson.
