The International Federation rejects France's complaint after canceling Griezmann's goal against Tunisia

The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced today, Monday, that the Disciplinary Committee rejected France's complaint regarding the cancellation of Antoine Griezmann's goal against Tunisia at the end of the Group D competitions in the FIFA World Cup.

"The FIFA Disciplinary Committee rejected a protest from the French Football Federation regarding Tunisia's match against France, which took place in the World Cup on November 30," FIFA said in a statement.

France filed a complaint after Griezmann thought he had scored the equalizer in the final seconds, before the video assistant referee intervened and canceled the goal after the final whistle.

Griezmann scored in the eighth minute of stoppage time, but the video referee canceled the goal because he was in an offside position when Aurelien Tchoamene sent a pass into the penalty area.

A Tunisian defender returned the ball in the direction of Griezmann, who was not in an offside position at the time, but the referee canceled the goal, and Tunisia won 1-0.

France topped the group despite the defeat, while Tunisia was eliminated from the competition.

And yesterday, Sunday, France, the defending champion, reached the quarter-finals after a 3-1 victory over Poland, and will play an upcoming confrontation against England.
