Plushenko's victory over Tutberidze

The Russian Jumping Championship attracted attention primarily with team competitions, in which the skaters represented Evgeni Plushenko, Eteri Tutberidze and Alexei Mishin.

Of course, everyone wanted to win, but first of all, for the athletes themselves, it was an opportunity to try to perform those elements that they are still afraid to insert into free programs.

This is how their attempts were used, in particular, by Alexander Boikov and Dmitry Kozlovsky.

First, the duet did, albeit with a blot, a quadruple twist, to which, by the way, Evgenia Tarasova and Vladimir Morozov responded in kind.

And then we went to the quadruple release.

And he just let a couple down.

The partner very unsuccessfully fell on the ice, on her stomach.

But, as the guys admitted after the start, there were no injuries.

At the same time, the first round of the tournament - the competition of sports couples - was eventually won by Anastasia Mishina and Alexander Gallyamov, who were part of the Plushenko team.

They also went on an experiment and jumped a parallel triple lutz.

“It was important for us to show it.

We do not dare to insert it into programs yet, because it may affect the rest of the content.

And today we showed in front of the audience that we can jump it, ”Match TV quotes the skaters.

I was a little surprised by the composition of the participants for the second stage, where it was necessary to demonstrate triple jumps.

Alexei Mishin had Mikhail Kolyada and Elizaveta Tuktamysheva.

They did an excellent job with their task.

But something else attracted attention - the three-time champion of Russia spoke only in this round.

The coach did not dare to declare him for quads and cascades, preferring other athletes.

There was a fear that the fans would never see Lisa's quadruple sheepskin coat.

However, it was Mishin's tactical move - to leave the most interesting for later.

Or, as the coach said, get the joker out of the sleeve at the last moment.

The situation was beautifully played out.

And Tuktamysheva had to save the team, which was inferior to competitors, in the last round with cascades of five jumps.

But the excitement affected, and the "empress" failed both attempts.

In stages with quads and cascades up to three jumps, Makar Ignatov and Alexander Samarin drew attention to themselves.

Both performed purely the second most difficult element of ultra-c - quadruple lutz.

Moreover, the skaters did it cleanly and got good points.

Sofya Samodelkina showed how easily she copes with the quadruple salchow.

Very young skaters also showed themselves.

However, Pyotr Gumennik became the main star of the team tournament.

He conquered everyone with his cascades, managing to complete a quad and four more triple jumps.

It was his performance that put an end to the fight for the first place, which went to Plushenko's team by a wide margin.

It should be noted that Yevgeny's tactics also played here.

Mishin and Tutberidze chose their "proven" fighters for the decisive round.

For Aleksey Nikolaevich, these were Lisa and Evgeny Semenenko, whose performance also left a good impression, and for Eteri Georgievna, Sofya Akatieva and Alisa Dvoeglazova.

Plushenko, on the other hand, bet on "foreign" guys - Gumennik and Ignatov.

And it worked.

The Tutberidze girls ended up making a mistake: Akatieva forgot to make the fifth jump, and Dvoeglazova fell while performing the quadruple lutz.

Tuktamysheva set other goals for herself, fighting with a sheepskin coat.

Semenenko was too smart.

And Peter and Makar did everything cleanly and confidently.

As a result, the Plushenko team scored 16 points, the Tutberidze team - 12, and Mishina - only 8. At the same time, the skaters from Khrustalny were clearly not ready to put up with such a result and promised to take revenge in the very near future.

Valieva's success

All the beginning of the season, Kamila Valieva could not restore the quadruple sheepskin coat.

She repeatedly added it to the free program, but fell over and over again.

Even when in Kazan I tried to perform it as an encore, after the introduction.

The tournament in St. Petersburg was a great opportunity to finally work out the element in front of the audience, and the skater did it perfectly.

She coped with him twice in team competitions, and then she never rudely made a mistake in personal ones.

In the quarterfinals, this allowed Sofia Titova to easily get around.

Next, Kamila was waiting for a meeting with Sofia Akatieva, who also has a restored Valieva jump in her arsenal.

However, the judges liked the sheepskin coats of the Olympic champion in team competitions a little more, and with an advantage of less than a point, she went to the final.

As the bronze medalist of the Russian Championship Katarina Gerboldt explained, this happened because Valieva's element looks more powerful.

“I think this is one of the reasons.

Each of the judges has his own opinion and his own arguments about why one jump is better than the other, ”RIA Novosti specialist quotes.

Well, in the decisive round, Plushenko and Tutberdze again met, since Sofia Muravyova reached the final.

She has only a triple axel in her arsenal so far, but his magnificent performance was enough to defeat Lyubov Rubtsova and Alisa Dvoeglazova.

The latter performs a quadruple lutz, however, it does so only once.

Alas, Muravyova's jump was inferior in difficulty to Valieva's sheepskin coat, so the outcome of this fight was natural.

The good news is that both girls performed with dignity, never falling down throughout the tournament.

Application from Fedorov

The men's personal tournament was in no way inferior to the women's in terms of the intensity of the struggle.

12 participants were declared in it at once, and a tense struggle was expected between the pupils of Evgeny Rukavitsyn, Alexei Mishin and Veronika Daineko.

However, there were some surprises here as well.

So, Grigory Fedorov turned out to be unstoppable, who clearly showed himself the day before.

A student of Elena Sokolovskaya learned how to flawlessly perform the second most difficult ultra-si element after the quadruple axel - lutz.

And as a carbon copy he stamped it right up to the final.

First, the 17-year-old figure skater knocked Andrei Anisimov out of the fight.

The opponent did not succeed in a quadruple flip, for which he received only 2.5 points, while Grisha performed both jumps.

Then Fedorov showed a master class to Vladislav Dikidzhi.

He also learned lutz.

However, he could not perform it twice in a row.

And in the final of the tournament, Fedorov was waited for by Pyotr Gumennik and Gleb Lutfullin, which was just expected, if we recall the performances of the guys at the stages of the Russian Grand Prix.

It is they who stubbornly include four quadruple jumps in a free program.

And recently, elements have even begun to turn out.

Daineko's student outplayed Makar Ignatov on the way to the decisive round.

In the quarterfinals, it turned out to be a tough fight, since Rukavitsyn's pupil also jumped a quadruple lutz.

But his performance was not as great as that of Goose, who preferred salchow.

Due to stability, Peter managed to get around Dmitry Aliev.

He also swung at the second most difficult element of ultra-si, but did not cope with it.

The competition was the hardest for Lutfullin.

In the quarterfinals, he was two points ahead of Andrei Mozalev.

Both skaters performed quadruple salchows.

And then he fought Evgeny Semenenko.

This duel turned out to be a confrontation between the Lutzes.

Moreover, the students of the four Mishins jumped them under a carbon copy - one cleanly, and the second with a touch of the hand.

As a result, the judges gave preference to Gleb.

In the final, everything was decided by the nerves, which turned out to be stronger with Fedorov.

Gregory continued to demonstrate his favorite jump.

And Gumennik and Lutfullin trembled.

The first touched the ice while performing a quadruple flip, and the second got a butterfly instead of a lutz.

“The last jump was my stupidity.

Of course, I wanted to win too much.

But it turned out the way it happened, ”Gleb explained.

Well, the champion of Russia in this type of program admitted that he really liked to perform in this format.

“Idea topchik.

Lutz jump - and that's it.

Today I performed it six times out of six.

Yesterday four out of four,” Fedorov joked.

The organizers had an idea to make a superfinal as well, bringing Gregory and Camila together.

But they decided to refuse it in time, limiting themselves to a bouquet of flowers for the skater.

In general, the tournament left a good impression.

And first of all, the young men who showed that they can actually perform any jump, except for the quadruple axel.

The Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova also positively assessed the Russian Championship.

“A new competition for all of us, it was absolutely brilliant!

I think that over time the jumping tournament will take root with us and will continue in the future.

We are sure that we will set a new trend for the whole world!

You will see, then the whole world will arrange such competitions.

I can't single out one of the guys today.

All great fellows, pleased!

Great performance, but they are capable of more.

I would like to congratulate Plushenko's team on their victory!

And I wanted to thank Trankov.

Great organization, great job!"

- quotes the words of Tarasova "Championship".
