The International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) announced that it has set the annual salary of its Swiss president, Gianni Infantino, at one and a half million Swiss francs ($1.52 million), or 25% less than the salary of his predecessor, compatriot Joseph Blatter.

The statement indicated that the Compensation Subcommittee and the FIFA President reached an agreement on the salary in addition to benefits in kind.

The statement highlighted that these concessions in kind include a car, job housing, and compensation of two thousand Swiss francs per month.

He added that this contract entered into force on February 27, 2016.

FIFA indicated in the statement that no bonuses would be paid to the FIFA president in 2016, explaining, "FIFA's current compensation policy is insufficient and opens the door to imbalances and misuse, and starting next year, Infantino will be able to benefit from the bonuses."
