Giroud and Mbappe lead France to the quarter-finals after beating Poland

Olivier Giroud scored a goal and the in-form Kylian Mbappe added two stunning goals as France beat Poland 3-1 in the last 16 of the World Cup in Qatar on Sunday.

Giroud scored the net just before the break, after a pass from Mbappe, to raise his score to 52 goals with France and become the historic scorer for his country, one goal behind Thierry Henry.

France continued attacking pressure in the second half, and Giroud almost added a goal after a cross from Jules Conde, but he shot wide of the goal.

Mbappe scored the second goal with a massive shot from inside the penalty area with a short distance in the 74th minute, then added another amazing goal in the top corner in the first minute of stoppage time.

Mbappe raised his score to five goals in the top scorer of the World Cup.

Poland striker Robert Lewandowski pulled one back from a penalty kick in the ninth minute of stoppage time, after he benefited from returning the kick he missed in the beginning due to Hugo Lloris' early move.
