"Samurai" regains the Arsenal star before facing Croatia

Japanese Takehiro Tomiyasu, Arsenal defender, is ready to participate as a starter for the first time in the World Cup currently being held in Qatar, after recovering from injury.

Tomiyasu said in the Japanese national team camp before facing the Croatian national team on Monday in the round of 16: "I am very happy that we have passed the group stage, but our focus is on reaching the quarter-finals, so we need to achieve another victory."

Tomiyasu has recovered from a thigh injury and could replace Ko Itakura in the starting line-up for the Japanese national team.

Ikatura, Borussia Monchengladbach defender, will miss the match due to receiving two bookings in the group stage.

Ikatora said: "I think that every player in the team will do his best. I will support the team and encourage from the outside."

The “Samurai” will meet the runner-up of the last edition, Croatia, in the final price, on Monday.
