The Korean national team players who dramatically succeeded in advancing to the round of 16 at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar will receive a reward of 100 million won per person.

South Korea, led by coach Paulo Bento, won 2-1 against Portugal on the 3rd (local time) in the Group H group stage match held at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.

With a record of 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss, Korea tied with Uruguay, but took second place in the group ahead in terms of points, making it to the World Cup round of 16 for the first time in 12 years since the 2010 tournament in South Africa.

Taegeuk warriors who impressed the nation even received a reward.

The Korea Football Association confirmed the criteria for reward payment for this tournament in May of this year.

Players who entered the final entry for the finals will receive a basic reward of 20 million won each, 30 million won if they win each game, and 10 million won if they draw.

Therefore, as a result of the group stage, we secured a bonus of 60 million won with a basic reward of 20 million won and 40 million won according to 1 win and 1 draw.

In addition, each player received a reward of 100 million won for advancing to the round of 16, and if they defeat 'Samba Soccer' Brazil in the round of 16, the amount of reward per player will increase to 200 million won.

So far, it means that you have received 160 million won each as an association game allowance and a reward for the round of 16.

FIFA will also pay prize money of 9 million dollars (approximately 11.7 billion won) to the associations of countries that did not make it to the round of 16 in this tournament, and 13 million dollars (approximately 17 billion won) to the national associations that reached the round of 16.

This prize pool will increase to $17 million if they advance to the quarterfinals.
