The Tunisian, who scored the historic winning goal against France, decides to retire internationally

Striker Wahbi Khazri said he would put an end to his international career with the Tunisian national team after being eliminated from the first round of the World Cup in Qatar, despite winning a goal against France, the defending champion, last Wednesday.

Al-Khazri said in a press statement: “After the Tunisia match, and in a meeting that included all the players and the technical and administrative staff, I told everyone that this moment is appropriate, and I thanked everyone and wished them success.”

The player, who raised his tally to three goals with Tunisia in the 2018 and 2022 World Cups, added, "I am proud of what I have provided for my country over the past years, and I believe that the future for this generation is in the national team."
