Cho Kyu-seong, striker of the Korean national soccer team, expressed his joy without filtering, saying, "It seems like a miracle has happened" about Korea's advancement to the World Cup round of 16.

South Korea defeated Portugal 2-1 in the 3rd Group H match of the 2022 Qatar World Cup held at the Education City Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar, early today (3rd).

With this victory, Korea recorded 1 win, 1 draw and 1 loss, and Korea won a ticket to the round of 16 as 2nd in group, and competed against 1st place in Group G to advance to the quarterfinals.

In a broadcast interview right after the game, Cho Kyu-seong said, "It seems like a miracle really happened."

After scoring two goals alone in the second match against Ghana, he was delighted to say, “We all prepared to beat Portugal with one mind, and our dream has come true.”

Cho Kyu-seong did not score a goal that day, but he actively fought and contributed to a 2-1 come-from-behind victory.

He said, “Thanks to your trust and support until the end, we made the final 16. Thank you very much, and if you support us until the end, we will show you (even better results) at the stadium.”
