Twitter and Tesla CEO Elon Musk posted a post congratulating the Japanese soccer team for advancing to the round of 16 at the World Cup in Qatar as first place in the group.
Today (2nd), Japan won the 'Invincible Armada' Spain 2-1 in the final 3rd match of Group E of the World Cup group stage held at the Khalifa International Stadium in Al Rayyan, Qatar.
The Japanese national team, which gave up the opening goal to Alvaro Morata in the 11th minute of the first half, turned the game around with Doan Ritsu equalizing in the 3rd minute of the second half and Ao Tanaka scoring a come-from-behind goal in the 6th minute.
In particular, Tanaka's goal seemed to go out of the line just before Mitoma Kaoru raised a cross, but the video review (VAR) confirmed that it was valid, making it a more dramatic final goal.
With this, Japan recorded 6 points and secured a ticket to the round of 16 by finishing first in the group.
According to Japanese public broadcaster NHK, etc., in Shibuya, downtown Tokyo, many fans who were watching the game at restaurants early in the morning gathered around the scramble intersection in front of Shibuya Station, a large crossing, Shibuya's famous crossing, and cheered when the victory was confirmed.

Elon Musk also congratulated Japan for advancing to the round of 16.
With more than 100 million followers, he posted a photo of the Japanese national team on his Twitter with the caption, "Congratulations Japan."
Elon Musk, who acquired Twitter last October, has shown extraordinary interest in Japan, such as saying at a meeting for all employees, "Twitter seems to be centered in the United States, but Japan is centered."
He said, "Japan's population is only one-third of that of the United States, but the number of users per day is almost the same as the United States."
